If we focus on individuals aged 25 to 35, individuals with lower levels of education are much less represented than in the whole population (5.4% of primary educated and 27% of secondary educated without school-leaving exam as opposed to 7% and 35% in the whole population, respectively) and the share of those with higher education, especially tertiary is substantially larger (30% of university graduates compared to 20% of tertiary educated in the population, see Figures 1 and 2). Although the share of tertiary educated among recent graduates is growing fast and reaches 30% nowadays, the number of university graduates is still relatively low in international comparison. The Czech Republic has the sixth lowest share of tertiary educated in the EU, with the EU average being 37% of tertiary educated graduates and some countries, like Lithuania or Ireland, reaching more than 50% of tertiary educated in young cohorts.6 6 Source: Eurostat, Population with tertiary educational attainment level by sex and age, 2013: http://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/data/database. 7 0 20 40 60 80 100
