"End homelessness now: lessons from the U.S. and a way forward for the Czech Republic"
Keynote speaker: Dennis Culhane | Dana and Andrew Stone Chair in Social Policy, Co-Principal Investigator, Actionable Intelligence for Social Policy, University of Pennsylvania
The keynote speech gave a broad overview of homelessness in the US, and how Dr. Culhane’s longitudinal research into the use of homelessness services came to segment the population and inform the program and policy interventions to match those segments. The veteran homelessness initiative was used as an example of how the interventions have worked, and ways to transfer these lessons to the European context were discussed.

The panel discussion addressed the following questions:
- What are possible new policy approaches to end homelessness in the Czech Republic? What is the best way forward?
- What should future research into homelessness in the Czech Republic focus on?
- How can we use administrative data from social welfare and social services databases to monitor homelessness and measure the performance of particular services?
- How transferable are the US findings to the Czech context?
